The latest Cowboys at Redskins NFL odds, trends, and other key stats ahead of their 2016 NFL Week 2 game.

The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins don’t care for one another; that is a well-known fact throughout football. With both teams losing their Week 1 contests, you can bet that this game will be a bit more chippy than your average Week 2 match-up.

When you play in the contested NFC East, the last thing you want to do is start the season 0-2. Unfortunately, for one of these teams that will be a reality Sunday afternoon. With only 16 games in a season, falling to 0-2 and losing a divisional game already starts to put pressure on a team.

The Cowboys dropped a thriller in Week 1 to the Giants, 20-19. Dallas was driving the field in an attempt to set a game-winning field goal try with 30 seconds left in the game, however, they ran out of time in the end. The Redskins, on the other hand, were beaten badly by the Steelers on Monday Night Football to the tune of 38-16. It was an ugly start of the 2016 season for Redskins fans.

With no time to reflect, the Cowboys and Skins both need to shake off Week 1 fast, especially Dallas. This game means a bit more to Big D in many ways. Not only will a loss put them at 0-2 to start the season, but they will also be 0-2 in divisional play. That isn’t good for a team that has high hopes for this season.

So, which team will pull off the big win this weekend? Let’s see what the trends favor.

According to Odds Shark, these two teams split the season series in 2014 and 2015, with the road team winning each contest. The Redskins will look to take a third straight game for the Cowboys this Sunday. Before the four-game split over the past two years, Dallas swept the Redskins in 2013.

When it comes to totals, the Cowboys are stingy on the road. The over/under total has gone UNDER in all of Dallas’ last five games on the road, and five of the last six games overall. Add to that the total has gone UNDER in seven of Washington’s last nine games when facing Dallas at home, and it seems like this game could be a battle of defenses.
