Houston struck first against Cincinnati on Thursday night, but Hayden Moore was quick to get the Bearcats right in it

The Houston Cougars might be the No. 6 team in the country and a legitimate national title contender, but as top teams from the past will tell you, playing on Thursday night is not always the ideal situation. Hayden Moore was the one to teach Houston this lesson early.

Houston looked good early on Thursday night, striking first on a touchdown pass from Greg Ward Jr. that was just a pure beauty. From there, some people probably thought the Cougars were gonna just cruise to an easy win. Well, it wasn’t that easy at all, at least for now.

After the Houston touchdown, Cincinnati quarterback Hayden Moore hit Devin Gray for this beautiful 61-yard touchdown bomb that would eventually tie the game all up at 7.

Now, come on — we all knew that it wasn’t gonna be all that easy for Houston, especially since their playing a team like Cincinnati that has all the talent in the world athletically. We thought that we might see something that resembled a track meet on Thursday night, and so far, that’s exactly what we’re getting from these two.

Right now, Houston has their sights set on the College Football Playoff, especially after their big opening week win over Oklahoma. But this is college football after all, and as we’ve seen time and time again, top teams can fall on any given week.

It looks like Cincinnati is more than ready to play the role of spoiler here on Thursday night, which is not a good sign for Houston. If Hayden Moore can keep getting connections like that, then we could be in for an interesting night.
