With two quarterbacks who struggled in Week 1, where do the stars align for the top five fantasy players for the Jets at Bills?
Last week at home against the Bengals, the Jets offense was contained for most of the day by a stingy Bengals secondary. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed just two passes over 20 yards. At times Fitzpatrick looked like the QB who threw 31 touchdown passes a year ago. But then, at times, he looked terrible.
For the Bills quarterback, Tyrod Taylor didn’t any better in his debut against the Ravens. The first Thursday night game of the year very well might be a low scoring defensive affair between a pair of divisional rivals. Here are your top five bets for fantasy for Thursday Night Football.
5. LeSean McCoy
So, here’s the deal. LeSean McCoy loves to bounce it outside on sweeps and counters. In order to have ANY success against the Jets defensive front, he’ll have to do just that. Steve McClendon is a monster, whom many, including myself, underestimated big time. Very few teams run at will against the Jets. Wait, let me rephrase that. Very few teams run the ball period against the Jets.
Yeah, the Jets allowed 324 passing yards last week, but they gave up just 57 on the ground. Even more importantly, the Bengals averaged a slim 3.0 yards per carry. Yikes. I don’t love this matchup for McCoy but he has the speed to get to the perimeter. McCoy had a TD and 58 yards rushing on 16 carries last week against a Ravens defensive line that’s nowhere near this Jets line. Good luck Shady.
