The NFL took issue with two things Antonio Brown did during Monday night’s game, then fined him for it.

Antonio Brown picked up from where he left off in 2015, catching eight passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns against the Washington Redskins. This led to a Pittsburgh Steelers victory on the first Monday Night Football game of the year.

After one of Brown’s touchdowns, he decided to do a “twerking” dance. While it didn’t involve him going to the ground, this could be called “over-the-top,” based on how the NFL has reacted to the celebrations.

Well the NFL did act on this, fining the All-Pro receiver for the dance. They also didn’t like his blue cleats and looked for money from that. This is according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Brown also commented with, “Nothing to a boss”.

This may be a reason why the NFL has the “No Fun League” nickname. Touchdown celebrations like this have been cracked down on for years. Players sometimes go against the league’s wishes, though, and go wild after scoring. In this instance, it led to a fine. Other times, the teams immediately get a 15-yard penalty on the ensuing kickoff (and Brown was penalized on the twerking TD as well).

Despite this, Brown will continue to lead the Steelers’ wide receiver group as one of the best at his position in the league, and possibly one of the best players among all 32 teams. Based on what happened Monday, the 28-year-old may be in for another terrific season. He’ll look to build on his 136 receptions for 1,834 yards in 2015, potentially breaking this number if he stays on this pace.

As for touchdown celebrations, the NFL will continue to crack down on them. The cleats may be an ongoing issue too, which will lead to the league filling its pockets.
