Here’s how to watch Saturday evening’s Notre Dame vs Michigan State matchup from South Bend online.

Notre Dame’s start to the 2016 season didn’t quite go as planned. The Fighting Irish ended up losing to then-unranked Texas 50-47 on the road. It was a raucous environment and the Irish didn’t seem ready for a visibly-improved Longhorns squad. Some positives did come from the loss, though, such as the naming of starting quarterback DeShone Kizer.

The Irish have gone from No. 10 to No. 18 and will host one of their toughest opponents of the year, No. 10 Michigan State. Kizer will be ready to take on a secondary that struggled last season, passing for 371 yards, seven touchdowns and an interception through two games. He has also completed 71 percent of his passes.

Sophomore running back Josh Adams has emerged as the replacement for C.J. Prosise, rushing for 149 yards on 21 carries. Tarean Folston is also a solid option, rushing for 115 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.

Michigan State’s opener wasn’t all that impressive, either. Mark Dantonio’s Spartans defeated FCS foe Furman 28-13 and didn’t look like a team ready to impose its will on a cupcake. Tyler O’Connor did get his first taste of being the No. 1 QB, although he did start against Ohio State last year, passing for 190 yards and three touchdowns.

Injuries and penalties made the score much closer than it should have been as the Spartans were down linebacker Jon Reschke and receivers Felton Davis III and R.J. Shelton for most, if not all, of the game and they were flagged 10 times for 120 yards. Overall sloppy performance for MSU.

LJ Scott stood out in the ground game and will be the No. 1 running back moving forward for the Spartans. The sophomore finished with his second career 100-yard game with a touchdown on 20 carries. He will need to pull his best Le’Veon Bell impression in Week 3 to top Notre Dame.
