Jerome Baker returned this interception 68 yards for the touchdown against Oklahoma on Saturday night
The Ohio State Buckeyes and Oklahoma Sooners are battling on Saturday night in one of the highlight matchups, and for a time, the scoring was scarce. Ohio State would eventually end that, taking a 7-0 lead following a Curtis Samuel scoring run. Not long after that, they would push the lead to 14-0 thanks to Jerome Baker.
Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield dropped back to pass as the Sooners were looking to answer, but the ball was tipped at the line. From there, the ball found its way into the hands of Baker.
And, well, before Oklahoma knew it, they were down 14-0.
"Not so basic.Pick 6 for the @OhioStateFB defense! #OSUvsOU https://t.co/ewZ4gJKJXH— FOX College Football (@CFBONFOX) September 18, 2016"
Just like the description from FOX says there in the tweet, this was a really good answer to the Oklahoma backup quarterback calling the Ohio State defense basic, huh?
Yeah, that was some bad news there, but it wouldn’t be long before the Sooners had something to smile about.

On the ensuing kickoff following the interception, running back Joe Mixon took it all the way to the house for the score, cutting the lead to 14-7. Now that’s a little more comfortable for the Sooners than 14-0, that’s for sure, and it puts some of the momentum back on their side.
