Everton moved up to second place after a comfortable 3-1 win against Middlesbrough, while Arsenal go third.

Manchester City remain two points clear at the top of the Premier League after five games. The Citizens thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 at the Etihad to make it five wins from five. The 15 goals Pep Guardiola’s side, and their +11 goal difference, remain the best in the league.

In second and third are Everton and Arsenal, respectively, after both won convincingly this weekend. Arsenal beat Hull 4-1 thanks to late goals from Alexis Sanchez and Granit Xhaka, while the Toffees came back from a goal down to beat Middlesbrough 3-1.

Everton may not be the best team in the league this season, that would be City, but they have a good claim to being the most improved. Ronald Koeman has added defensive organization to dangerous attack. They dominated Boro, whose goal came when Alvaro Negredo seemed to foul Everton keeper Martin Stekelenberg.

The other big winners of the day were West Brom and Leicester. The Baggies beat West Ham 4-2 at home, which made a nice change for a team that usually struggles to score at all. Leicester bounced back from their 4-1 defeat at Liverpool last week with a 3-0 win over newly promoted Burnley.

West Ham drop to 17th, and could move into the relegation zone tomorrow depending on tomorrow’s results. It has been a worrying start for Slaven Bilic’s team, who have conced four goals in consecutive games. They are still dealing with some injury problems and should have more than enough talent to avoid the drop, but if they don’t turn things around soon, they miss out on the European places.

Here is the full list of results from the weekend’s matches so far:

Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool
Leicester 3-0 Burnley
Hull 1-4 Arsenal
Manchester City 4-0 Bournemouth
West Brom 4-2 West Ham
Everton 3-1 Middlesbrough

There will be four more games tomorrow, the most intriguing of which is Manchester United’s trip to Watford. The Red Devils lost the Manchester derby last week, but a win would see them move back up into third place.
