The Carolina Panthers host the San Francisco 49ers for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday, September 18th. Here are the inactive players for this NFC game.

The Carolina Panthers enter their home opener in Week 2 as an overwhelming favorite to the San Francisco 49ers. According to OddsShark.com, the Panthers are a massive 14-point home favorite on the 49ers in this NFC matchup.

Carolina has had 10 days to think about its one-point road loss to the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium on September 8th. San Francisco is playing on just six days rest. While the 49ers clobbered their NFC West rival in the Los Angeles Rams 28-0 on Monday Night Football, San Francisco has to travel across country to play in a hostile Bank of America Stadium environment.

Few, if any, believe that Chip Kelly’s 49ers have a shot at beating Ron Rivera’s Panthers in Charlotte with all that is going against the 49ers in this one. However, San Francisco does have a new coaching staff in place and will look to run the ball often Kelly’s up-tempo attack.

Carolina should be well-rested, while San Francisco might still be a bit dinged up from its win over Los Angeles on Monday night. Here are the Week 2 inactives in the game being played between the 49ers and the Panthers:

The biggest takeaway from the inactive players listed form both the 49ers and the Panthers is that Carolina will not dress defensive tackle Paul Soliai. Carolina acquired Soliai in 2016 NFL free agency after spending the last two years with the NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons. Is there buyer’s remorse for the 32-year-old nose tackle for the Panthers?
