Ohio State fans troll Austin Kendall’s ‘basic defense’ comment on Twitter
Ohio State fans were relentless on social media because of a comment made earlier in the week after the Buckeyes jumped way in front of Oklahoma in a showdown of top-15 teams.
Austin Kendall and the Oklahoma Sooners learned a valuable lesson against Ohio State on Saturday. Don’t put material on an elite team’s bulletin board.
Kendall made a comment earlier in the week leading up to Saturday night’s showdown between the Buckeyes and Sooners about Ohio State having a “basic defense” and … well, yeah … it wasn’t a smart thing to say.
The Bucks jumped out to a 35-17 lead at halftime against the Sooners and didn’t look back. The nation’s No. 3 team poured it on the Sooners all night and picked off Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield twice in the process.
Buckeye fans and others watching the game didn’t forget Kendall’s comment and were non-forgiving on Twitter to say the very least.
Check out some of these gems, including a few from former Ohio State signal-caller Cardale Jones.
Game, set and match for Columbus over the Sooners. Cardale Jones about won this game by himself and he was just sitting back tweeting the beatdown. Former Buckeye quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw some shade as well. Even new Toronto Raptors forward Jared Sullinger got in on the “basic defense” fun.

The Buckeyes have flexed all over the Sooners on Saturday night and it’s scary to think what this team will become over time with all of their youth and talent on both sides of the ball. As for the Sooners, their chances of the College Football Playoff are gone with another loss.
That’s just basic knowledge.
