team. 44. Matt Ryan helped lead the Atlanta Falcons to a big win in the Black Hole against the Oakland Raiders. Throwing for nearly 400 yards, Matt Ryan connected with three different receivers for touchdowns. Justin Hardy’s first touchdown of the season was caught after a ball deflected off someone’s hands and into his own.
The running back by committee might have a new chairman in Tevin Coleman. While Devonta Freeman had the bulk of the carries and a team high 93 yards, Coleman scored an impressive, aggressive touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Coleman’s touchdown ultimately decided the 35-28 win for Atlanta.

Despite the win, Atlanta’s offense failed to click in the redzone. In their first three trips, they were forced to settle for two field goals while the third resulted in a turnover.

Former Clemson pass rusher Vic Beasley recorded the first sack of the year for Atlanta, which was also the first allowed by Oakland’s offensive line.

Atlanta’s defense forced no turnovers, but we still saw big performances out of the front seven. Kemal Ishmael had a team high 15 tackles, while Deion Jones followed that up with 10 of his own.

Eric Weems returned a punt 73 yards, and a horse collar tackle on Oakland punter Marquette King tacked on additional yardage.

Atlanta now travels to New Orleans for a Monday night showdown against the Saints. Considering how bad the Saints defense has been in recent years, Matt Ryan could be in for another big game. The veteran quarterback currently has throw for over 700 yards with five touchdowns and just one interception.
. 1-1. Previous: . Atlanta Falcons. 18
