Miami Dolphins D/ST (5.8%)

The Dolphins defense has been so-so in the first two weeks of the season, but they get a spot in my waiver wire week 3 based on their great matchup in Week 3. Miami comes home for the first time this season as they welcome in the Browns. Cleveland will be starting their third quarterback in as many weeks, and they should be a nice matchup in Miami’s home opener.

Last week, the Dolphins defense looked really bad in the first half against Jimmy Garoppolo, but they rebounded in the second half allowing just ten points to the Patriots in the second half. They ended up with a pair of sacks and a forced fumble, but they still fell short in their comeback attempt in New England. The loss dropped them to 0-2 after they held the Seahawks to just 12 points while almost getting a win in Seattle.

Miami’s defense has been up and down, but they should be set up for success as they take on Cleveland. The Browns will be forced to go with Cody Kessler who they drafted in the third round last year. Just a few days ago, Adam Schefter reported that Kessler was “not close to being ready to play.” Well, now he has to start, and that makes the Dolphins defense the one to go after on the waiver wire week 3.
