19. New York Jets

19. player. 30. It’s an odd feeling when the New York Jets have their offense to thank for avoiding an 0-2 start to the season. After let the game slip away in the opener against Cincinnati, the Jets defense watched Buffalo hit them repeatedly for big plays and 31 points. Something just feels off about this unit. They aren’t suffocating people like they were a year ago.
A big culprit to that problem is actually Darrelle Revis. After years of being barren, it seems Revis Island has become a tourist resort. Two weeks in a row the All-Pro corner has been torched badly for long pass plays. Rumors persisted about him not showing up in shape for training camp. It seems that issue followed him into the season and is really hampering the Jets’ coverage.

Adding a young corner looks inevitable in 2017. Revis appears like he’s destined for a move to safety. That could leave a gaping hole in the secondary unless the Jets plug it quickly. Marlon Humphrey is the type of guy who can do that. Many fans will cringe that he’s from Alabama after the Dee Milliner debacle, but Humphrey is a big 6-foot-1 kid with athleticism who can match up in man coverage all day long.
. CB. Alabama.
