3. San Francisco 49ers (via CHI)

42. Chicago is a team very much in transition with many new faces and an increasingly young roster. Sometimes it can take bit of time to learn how to win. Nonetheless they jump at the chance to swing a deal with the San Francisco 49ers who have an intriguing young roster of their own that might be a couple key pieces away from becoming very interesting in the NFC West.
Blaine Gabbert played well enough to win the opener, but is anybody really convinced he’s the long-term answer the 49ers are looking for? It’s obvious enough he has improved from his days in Jacksonville but he is nowhere near what one would call playoff caliber. As for Colin Kaepernick, whatever edge he used to have disappeared two years ago. His best days are done.

At present there are two potential quarterbacks who can be viewed as top-10 locks. Kizer was one and Deshaun Watson is the other. While he may not have quite the size or arm strength, Watson is every bit the playmaker Kizer is. He can run like a wide receiver but chooses to stay in the pocket and can deliver passes with zip and solid ball placement. Reading defenses isn’t a problem either. The better opponent he faces, the better he seems to play.
. QB. Clemson. Deshaun Watson . 3. player
