Keys to Victory
The San Francisco 49ers have young pass rushers that can get after the quarterback. They also have a playmaking safety in Eric Reid, who can turn a ball game in an instant. If Seattle wants to beat the 49ers, their offensive line is going to have to step up.
Russell Wilson was hounded against the Los Angeles Rams and there was no semblance of offense. The Seahawks have just one touchdown through two games and their offense is raising questions about the team’s potential success.
The 49ers have to be better on offense as well. While the team has put up points under Chip Kelly, Blaine Gabbert has struggled a little bit. Against a great Seahawks defense, Gabbert is going to have to trust his instincts and maybe put this game into the hands of Carlos Hyde. Joe Staley has been a rock at tackle for the 49ers and he’s got a big test this week.
Prediction
The 49ers are an improving team and the Seahawks are an enigma. Seattle has a tremendous defense that can carry them anywhere, but going cheap on the offensive line might have finally broken them.
The Seahawks are going to have to muster more than one touchdown a game if they are going to win. The 49ers haven’t fared well in Seattle, but they have to like the fight they showed against the Panthers on the road.
The team that scores early points is going to come away the winner in this one. Seattle is at home and that offense knows they have to get better. Their defense will put points up on the board and they’ll get by in an ugly one.
Pick: Seattle 16, San Francisco 10
