The Bears and Cowboys meet up in a key Week 3 battle this week on Sunday Night Football.

The Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys will face off this weekend on Sunday night in a game that means a lot to both teams. Dallas will look to improve to 2-1 on the season and try to keep pace with the undefeated Giants and Eagles, while the Bears seek their first win of the season — and they will be without starting QB Jay Cutler.

According to a NFL.com report, Cutler suffered an injury to his right thumb during Monday’s loss to the Eagles.  Bears head coach John Fox told reporters Tuesday that Cutler was still considered day-to-day; however, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Cutler is expected to miss two to three weeks.

Backup Brian Hoyer went 9-for-12 for 78 yards in relief last Monday night vs. the Eagles and is expected to start this weekend vs. the Cowboys. Coming off a Monday night home loss to the Eagles, the Bears have little time to right the ship before heading to Big D.

As if all this news wasn’t bad enough for the Bears, they are catching Dallas at the worst time. The Cowboys look like a confident bunch behind rookie QB Dak Prescott, and could easily be 2-0 on the season.

So do the Bears have a chance to win at all this Sunday?

Sure they do. After all, this is the NFL, where you always need to expect the unexpected. They also have some trends that lead you to believe that they may put up a good showing.

The Bears are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games on the road. That is actually impressive. As many fans know, winning on the road isn’t easy in the NFL. Add to that the fact that the Bears have beaten Dallas three of the last four times they met and it seems like the Bears have a bit of mojo against the Cowboys.

The over/under number total has gone OVER in the last five games between these two.

Las Vegas odds makers have Dallas listed as a 7-point favorite, with the over/under number set at 46. Kickoff time is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. E.T. from AT&T Stadium. Dallas leads the all-time series 14-11.
