Upset of The Week – No. 23 Ole Miss over No. 12 Georgia

Okay, it may not be much of a stretch to pick an upset from a game between ranked teams, but I’m still trying to figure out how the Rebels are still a ranked team with two losses in the first three games of the season.

Bad rankings aside, this is a Rebels team who was up by 22 points over a Florida State team that, despite last week’s result, is still one of the better team. Then, Ole Miss found themselves up by 21 points over the still top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. What do both games have in common?

Each one saw a massive comeback and a loss for the Rebels.

This weekend, it’s another SEC contest that – with the national title all but likely a distant memory – features a Bulldogs team that many people don’t know what to expect. After a massive comeback over a ranked North Carolina team in the opener, they have won their last two games by three combined points.

Against Nicholls State and Missouri, mind you.

Georgia is a team that should not be ranked 12th in the nation, undefeated record aside. After two early season losses, Ole Miss will not add a third one to their resume entering the month of October.
