Sixth man-Stanley Johnson

Another player in the Pistons fantasy basketball outlook with plenty of room to grow and a good chance at having a breakout season is second-year forward Stanley Johnson. Johnson showed some very positive signs in his rookie year and even became a DFS sensation for a little while while KCP was sidelined.

He averaged just over 20 minutes a game and contributed just 8.1 points, 1.6 assists, and 0.8 steals, but when he was called on to do more he stepped up. This season, Johnson could definitely make the jump to being a fantasy contributor on a nightly basis if he can get enough laying time behind Marcus Morris and KCP.

Stan Van Gundy said he “expects a noticeable jump” in Johnson’s production, and the Pistons could definitely use a spark from him in the second unit. Johnson isn’t someone to over-invest in, but he’s going undrafted in 95% of ESPN leagues so far this preseason.

He’s definitely someone to watch throughout the early weeks of the season, and if you’re in on the former-Wildcat use a late-round flier on him. He has huge upside, and the Pistons look ready to give him a sizable role.
