Katie Nolan has yet again provided the world with what it needed to hear.

On Wednesday night’s episode of her show Garbage Time on Fox Sports 1. Nolan has never been afraid to speak up on important and societal problems in her sports commentary.  A few hours before the show aired,  Nolan teased on Twitter: “Tonight on Garbage Time, we talked DRose, Penn State & Darren Sharper. And that’s just the A block.”

In a segment called, “Easy Wins,” Nolan eviscerated Penn State for choosing to honor late head football coach Joe Paterno in a video played early in the second quarter of Saturday’s game against Temple at Beaver Stadium. The tribute was planned to highlight the 50th anniversary of the first game Paterno coached at Penn State.

Nolan outlined what we already know: For years, Paterno is said to have simply ignored any rumblings that his then-defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was sexually abusing young boys. Recently released court documents state that Paterno was made aware of Sandusky’s abuse as long ago as 1976. Sandusky has been rotting in jail since 2012, when he was convicted on 10 counts of child molestation and sentenced to at least 30 years in prison. Paterno passed away in January 2012 at the age of 85 after being fired by Penn State Board of Trustees in November 2011.

Here’s an especially spicy excerpt of what Nolan had to say: “They say time heals all wounds, but not if every five years you keep poking it with a stick. Easy win here, Penn State. Just do nothing. Just keep quiet and take the win—two things Paterno was really good at.”

Zing. Point, Nolan. And bravo.

Nolan’s delivery is always animated and strong.  Watch the full segment and feel it all for yourself.
