DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for September 23rd (7:00 PM Only)

Finding value isĀ the ever so elusive, ā€œHoly Grailā€ in Fantasy Baseball. Ā Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to offer a handful of players that could give critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLBĀ picks.

Tonight’s slate features 14 games, with two teams projected to score over five runs. Baltimore stands out with the highest team total at 5.9 runs, followed by Toronto (5.5), Cleveland (4.9), Houston (4.9), and Seattle (4.9). Unlike most night’s, there are very few high-priced pitchers in good match ups. However, if you’re looking to pay up for batters with upside, here are my recommended bargain plays that could provide salary relief.

Gabriel Ynoa – NYM (P) – $4300

Gabriel Ynoa made his first start for the Met’s last week where he went 4.2 innings and recorded 8 strikeouts. He’s laughably cheap on DraftKings, in a spot where the Mets are -142 favorites and the Phillies are projected to only score 3.7 runs. It will be important to monitor any news regarding a pitch count, but either way, it wont take much for Ynoa to return value.

T.J. Rivera – NYM – $2600

DraftKing’s refuses to raise T.J. Rivera’s salary, so we might as well stick with him. Rivera has had a hit in 9 of his last 10 games, and is under priced given his splits and the Met’s projection. Rivera will face a righty, where he holds a .421 wOBA and a .240 ISO split.

Yulieski Gurriel – HOU (1B/3B) – $3300

Yulieski Gurriel wasn’t so hot last night, but if he’s batting second again, he should be considered. Houston is projected to score 4.8 runs and Gurriel should be a beneficiary as he’ll draw a favorable match up against the righty, Alex Meyer. Gurriel fares much better against rightes, withĀ a .368 wOBA split.

Hyun-Soo Kim – BAL (OF) – $3600

As I referenced earlier, Baltimore has the highest team total on the slate, and if you’re looking to get exposure to the Orioles, Ā I’d suggest taking a look at Hyun-Soo Kim. Kim has drastic splitsĀ and holds a .367 wOBA split against righties.

Chris Carter – MIL (1B) – $3400

Chris Carter went deep last night and has been trending in the right direction, with 4 homer runs in his last 9 appearances. Carter has fairly neutral splits, but is very under priced on DraftKings, in comparison to Fanduel. Carter should provide tremendous home run upside, while also providing salary relief.
