Here’s how to watch Saturday’s nonconference matchup between the Connecticut Huskies and Syracuse Orange online.
A pair of former Big East rivals will meet once again when the Connecticut Huskies host the Syracuse Orange on Saturday afternoon at Rentschler Field.
Following last year’s surprise run to the St. Petersburg Bowl, third-year head coach Bob Diaco is trying to bring some consistency to the Connecticut program. The Huskies recovered from a tough loss to Navy in Week 2 with a last-minute win over Virginia last Saturday to move to 2-1 on the season.
Connecticut will hope to generate some explosive plays from an offense that is averaging just over 10 points per game. Junior quarterback Bryant Shirreffs has completed 71 percent of his passes for 555 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in his second season under center for the Huskies after transferring from NC State.
First-year head coach Dino Babers has some work to do to rebuild a Syracuse team that currently stands at 1-2 on the season. The Orange have faced a tough schedule following their season-opening win over Chicago and have been blown out by Louisville and South Florida in consecutive weeks.
Syracuse will need its defense to play much better in the coming weeks, although it has faced a pair of very talented offenses. There is some talent for Babers to work with on the other side of the ball, including sophomore quarterback Eric Dungey, who has 10 total touchdowns on the year.
The game will be critical for Connecticut’s postseason hopes, as the Huskies have a tough upcoming stretch with Houston, Cincinnati and South Florida on the schedule. Saturday’s contest begins at 1:00 p.m. Eastern on the CBS Sports Network, with full streaming details below.
