On Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Dolphins prevailed over the Cleveland Browns 30-24 in overtime despite late miscues.
Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Cody Kessler had an encouraging debut. He finished with no touchdowns, but didn’t turn the ball over either.
On 33 pass attempts, he completed 21 of them for 244 yards. Here is a look at his performance chart under pressure by Pro Football Focus.

It’ll be interesting to see if he continues to start down the road, and how well he does. The Browns in all likelihood will have the first overall pick in this year’s draft but where will they elect to go with the selection?
Back to this game, though. In their third straight loss this season, the Browns have taken steps forward in the last two games. This Browns team has been way more competitive than most people thought they were going to be.
Cleveland, like essentially half the league, has been plagued by injuries. In this game, receiver/quarterback Terrelle Pryor stepped up big, doing a little bit of both throwing and receiving to help these Browns.

Imagine a trio between Pryor, rookie wideout Corey Coleman, and Josh Gordon? Wow. See Browns fans, the future isn’t all that bad! If it weren’t for a 46-yard missed field goal by kicker Cody Parkey, Cleveland would have come out on top.
Miami, on the other hand, got the win but barely. Ryan Tannehill had another Tannehill-esque day. He threw three touchdowns and two interceptions. I still don’t make much of this team until they look elsewhere at quarterback (which they won’t).

Three Stars
1. Terrell Pryor — No doubt about this one. It wasn’t easy choosing stars for this game, but hands down Pryor is one of them. He saw time at receiver, quarterback and at safety to defend a Hail Mary attempt by the Dolphins.
Pryor is the reason why the Browns were even in this game. With few bright spots to look forward to in the future, Pryor is defintely one player to keep your eye on as we progress through the season.
2. Jarvis Landry — The most productive player on the offensive side of the ball for the Dolphins was once again receiver Jarvis Landry. He finished the game with seven catches on 12 targets for 120 yards.
I really wonder what kind of numbers this guy could put up with a quarterback like a Drew Brees or Philip Rivers. Who knows? But Landry is one of the better overall receivers in the game, and game in and game out, he never fails to impress.
3. Corey Lemonier — The little known outside linebacker out of Auburn had a standout day that will go forgotten for the Browns. He had a strip, sack, forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in the closing moments of the fourth-quarter. Despite the loss today, the Browns have a noteable player on defense moving ahead.
