Should LSU Tigers running back Leonard Fournette sit out the rest of the season and save himself for the NFL Draft?
The LSU Tigers’ season is all but done after a tough loss at Auburn. While there are still plenty of games left to be played, their playoff hopes are done and the school. The school has also reportedly fired head coach Les Miles, according to The Advocate. With the season having gone south, Leonard Fournette has a big decision to make.
He’s expected to be on the of the top picks in the NFL Draft next season and before the season began, there was talk about whether or not he should sit out the season. Considering the fact he’s been a little banged up, now he really has to consider his future.
While the Tigers certainly could use him on the field, there’s no point in risking his draft stock over a lost season. He has too much to lose by continuing to play and taking the season off to focus on getting ready for the NFL seems like the best option for him going forward.
Still, Fournette loves his team and it would be hard for him to just leave his guys. It’s not an easy choice to make, but he’s got to keep his future in mind. The Tigers are in flux right now and there could be a lot of big changes coming still.
