3. Mike Glennon

When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers first drafted quarterback Mike Glennon in 2013, he seemed to be their future at the position. The North Carolina State product even played 13 games in his rookie season, and six in 2014. However, the 2015 No. 1 overall pick went to the Bucs, who selected quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston took over the starting job and has performed admirably.

As of Week 3 of the 2016 season, Glennon hasn’t taken a regular season snap since 2014. Barring an injury to Winston, that isn’t going to change any time soon. Does that make the 26-year-old a trade candidate?

Glennon’s contract expires after the 2016 season, so there’s a chance Tampa Bay loses him for nothing. He’s also being paid just $1.5 million. If the Jets come calling for a potential replacement for Ryan Fitzpatrick, they could take on Glennon and give him a shot for the rest of the season.

By making this trade, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg would be allowed to sit and watch for the rest of the year. Gang Green could see what they have in Glennon, and potentially offer him a deal to stay if Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith depart in the offseason.

The only thing holding this back is that it would leave the Bucs without a backup to Winston. If the Jets offer one of their quarterbacks in a deal, though, this could happen.
