First Presidential Debate 2016 live stream: Watch online

Want to watch the first 2016 presidential debate online?

This extremely long election season has finally reached the home stretch. Here’s how we know: the first presidential debate will air later tonight. Although there are two third-party candidates, Jill Stein for the Green Party and Gary Johnson for the Libertarians, neither qualified based on polls according to Politico. Thus, the stage will only host Democratic candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Republican candidate and businessman Donald Trump.

All of the major networks will carry the debate live. It will start at 9 p.m. ET and last for 90 minutes. Unlike the primary debates, networks will not air any commercial breaks during this debate.

Lester Holt of NBC News will moderate. Currently, he also anchors NBC Nightly News. According to the Commission on Presidential Debates, Holt will center the questions around three topics: America’s Direction, Achieving Prosperity, and Securing America. However, the commission has said that the topics may change depending on current news issues.

Furthermore, each of the six segments will last 15 minutes. Each topic will get two segments of 15 minutes.

Start time: 9 p.m. ET
TV Channel: ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN…if it shows news, it will almost certainly show the entire debate live. Take your pick.

Aside from the major networks, expect major cable news channels like CNN to carry it as well. PBS will also broadcast it live. On top of that, ABC News and Facebook will team up to stream the entire debate via Facebook Live.

Not to be upstaged, Twitter and Bloomberg TV will pair up to stream the debate on Twitter at debates.twitter.com as well as in the Moments tab, according to CNET.
