Howard Dean joked on Twitter that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump might be on cocaine during the first presidential debate Monday night.
The 2016 presidential debate was probably the largest, most highly anticipated, most insane debate in the history of the United States of America.
It’s only fitting that Twitter was completely engulfed in the flames, with hotly debated opinions, one-line zingers, GIFs and memes littering everyone’s feeds.
Enter Howard Dean, who served as the 79th Governor of Vermont from 1991-2003. With the presidential debate stoking the Twitter fires, Dean threw a nice, big ol’ log on the fire:

Trump’s constant sniffing was a hot topic on social media at the beginning of the debate, as he was apparently dealing with “the sniffles.” Dean, a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2004 Presidential Election, turned that into a joke aboutTrump possibly being on cocaine.
The irony of Trump showing up to a presidential debate with the sniffles after declaring that he’d be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency” is rich in and of itself, but Coke jokes on Twitter from the former governor just ratcheted things up to a whole new level.

Trump and Hillary Clinton had plenty of interesting, controversial and downright incorrect things to say during Monday’s debate, but as always seems to be the case, the most notable takeaways from the night are going to be viral jokes exactly like this.
