Seth Rollins may have been injured at Sunday night’s WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view.

Seth Rollins took part in the WWE Clash of Champions main event, challenging Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship. This developed after Triple H cost Rollins the title in a match on Raw, and assisted Owens in winning.

The Architect would come up short at Clash, losing via a pop-up powerbomb from KO. This didn’t come without controversy, though, as the referee had been inadvertently knocked out. Stephanie McMahon brought a second official out a few minutes later. This, along with Chris Jericho, provided enough of a distraction for Rollins to lose.

Well, it seems the first NXT Champion may have walked out of the event with an injury. According to F4WOnline.com, Rollins may have hurt his ribs when hitting the Gutbuster spot in Sunday’s match.

Injuries have mounted for WWE over the past 12 months, with this potentially adding to the list. While a rib injury may take a few weeks to heal, it’s better than Rollins re-aggravating the knee problems that kept him out for seven months.

As for what’s next, Rollins could be taken out of the ring on Raw. The WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view isn’t until Oct. 30, so if the injury needs to make him sit, he’ll have plenty of time to rest before having a match at this show. Based on what happened at Clash, it would seem he’s going to face Owens in a rematch for the Universal Title.

There may be an answer provided on Seth Rollins’ status by Monday’s episode of Raw. If the 30-year-old wrestles, then this may not have been enough to hold him back, or he may not have been injured at all. The latter would be for the best, so we’ll see what happens next.
