J.J. Watt injury update: Latest updates on Texans star defensive end
By Jack Crosby
What are the latest updates on the status of Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt after he reportedly re-injured his back?
The Houston Texans are off to a 2-1 start to the season, with their only loss coming at the hands of the New England Patriots on a recent edition of Thursday Night Football. Well, the Texans suffered more than just a game loss in that one, as the news on star defensive end J.J. Watt is less than ideal.
Late Tuesday night it was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that the Texans star had actually re-injured his back, and not only that, but there is a good chance that he could be out for the rest of the 2016 NFL regular season.
In a later tweet, Rapoport would go on to say that the team really doesn’t know the extent of the injury at the moment, but it’s definitely expected that he will be put on injured reserve as early as Wednesday.

However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter did have another update to hand out, and it’s not one that Texans fans want to see.
Schefter is reporting that the Texans aren’t too optimistic about the man who is considered the best defensive end in the game and one of the best overall players in the league.
Update: Ed Werder is reporting that Watt is “probably” done for the season.
Update: ESPN’s Adam Schefter is now reporting that Watt will be placed on IR Wednesday evening.
It was rumored that Watt was suffering from an injury, but no one really speculated that it was something that would cause him to miss the rest of this season entirely.
