20. Kansas City Chiefs

Ohio State. Raekwon McMillan . 20. player. 124. It really is remarkable how well the Kansas City Chiefs continue to adjust to injuries and losses. Justin Houston and Jamaal Charles still aren’t back from their respective ailment. It doesn’t matter. The offense and defense continue to perform well enough each week to win. That is a testament to the work done by head coach Andy Reid who has never really gotten the credit he deserves. In spite of that, there are some lingering concerns that can’t be ignored by the team much longer.
Topping that list is inside linebacker. Derrick Johnson continue to be magnificent for the Chiefs. Every time it looks like they should be regressing from the losses, he seems to step up his game. That said he’s fighting a battle with time now. He’s 34 years old and the team really doesn’t have anybody on the roster who can take over when he’s gone. Going after one with a first-round pick feels like their best best.

They could do a lot worse than Raekwon McMillan. He’s one of the best defenders on one of the best teams in college football. A true sideline-to-sideline linebacker who plays aggressive and fast. He’s got instinct to his game, allowing him to get the jump on plays at times. Of course he’s not quite where Johnson is but the potential is certainly there. Especially if the Chiefs give him the opportunity to learn from the master.
. ILB
