Jourdan Lewis sealed a Michigan victory against Wisconsin with what might be the best interception that you will ever see.

Ohio State is still the best team in the Big Ten, but Michigan proved that they have the makings of a national championship contender. Their game against Wisconsin was the fifth straight game at home, but their first against a top 10 opponent. And after they methodically pounded Michigan State a week ago, the Wolverines knew they had to grind it out to get the win.

That’s exactly what they did, as their 14-7 win was the first time all year that they didn’t score more than 45 points. While Wisconsin’s defense deserves all the credit in the world, the scoreline could’ve been a lot less flattering had Michigan not missed three field goals. It was because of that that Wisconsin still had a chance to win in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, but facing fourth down, Jourdan Lewis made one of the best interceptions you’ll ever see:

The ball may have been underthrown, but to make a play like that required extreme athleticism. Jourdan Lewis deserves all the credit in the world for coming up with that ball. And given the circumstances of the game, yes it was better than Malik Hooker’s interception against Bowling Green.

Jabrill Peppers may be Michigan’s best overall player, but Jourdan Lewis is their best player on defense. After missing the first three games because of injury, he returned just in time for the Big Ten schedule. Last week he got drilled by Penn State’s 400-pound kicker, which probably served as a wake-up call for him to stick to defense. But this interception proved he can be a capable offensive player, because he looked like Odell Beckham.
