Saturday afternoon’s Wisconsin vs Michigan game in Ann Arbor was one of the more exciting matchups of the week.

One of the best matchups of the week had to be that between Michigan and Wisconsin in Ann Arbor. Everyone was expecting a low-scoring, grind-it-out contest, and that’s exactly what the fans got. The game was as closely matched as it could be with the score tied at seven with under 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Michigan took a lead with just about eight minutes left on a long 46-yards touchdown pass from Wilton Speight to Amara Darboh. The offense wasn’t able to move the ball much, but that play gave the Wolverines a ton of confidence.

Wisconsin didn’t get to No. 8 in the country for no reason, though. The Badgers’ offense was quiet, but had a chance to tied it up with the ball back with under three minutes left.

However, Badgers freshman quarterback Alex Hornibrook had a lapse of judgement and tossed a deep ball on 4th-and-10 which resulted in a crazy one-handed interception. The Wolverines escaped with a huge 14-7 win.

This win over No. 8 Wisconsin was Jim Harbaugh’s first victory over a ranked team in the regular season at Michigan.

Three Stars

1. Wilton Speight: Both offenses were quiet, but Wilton Speight led all performers on this side of the ball. He was 20-of-32 with 219 yards and a touchdown.

2. Channing Stribling: The senior cornerback for the Wolverines ended a two drives with crucial interceptions. He is emerging as a solid defensive back for Michigan.

3. Jourdan Lewis: The one-handed interception by Lewis in the fourth quarter to seal the game was the play of the year so far. Unbelievable.
