Bills at Patriots: Highlights, score and recap
By John Buhler
The New England Patriots will play the Buffalo Bills in Week 4. Here are all the highlights, the game recap, and the final score of this AFC East game.
The New England Patriots host their AFC East rival in the Buffalo Bills for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff in Week 4. CBS will have the telecast of this high-stakes AFC East rivalry game.
New England enters play at a perfect 3-0. The Patriots have managed to win all three of their games this season without Tom Brady under center. Jacoby Brissett is going to get the start today with Jimmy Garoppolo again inactive. Julian Edelman is Brissett’s backup on Sunday.
Buffalo won last week to move to 1-2 on the year. However, head coach Rex Ryan is still very much on the hot seat. If he can’t beat Bill Belichick when the Patriots are at their most vulnerable, don’t be surprised in the Pegula Family moves on from Ryan as the Bills coach.
This game should be close, as most Belichick/Ryan battles are. New England is better at in-game execution than any team in football. Ryan’s teams ride a roller coaster of emotions. This should be one of the better games in the early window on Sunday afternoon.
Three Stars
- Julian Edelman: Will Edelman play slot receiver or quarterback for the Patriots? Either way, expect to have his best game of the season after Ryan tried to troll him at a press conference earlier this week. Edelman will have 125 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.
- Tyrod Taylor: Taylor is the Bills franchise quarterback. He’s succeeded under former offensive coordinator Greg Roman and now Anthony Lynn. Taylor will complete 65% of his passes for 240 yards, two touchdowns, and a fumble.
- Rob Gronkowski: Gronkowski has played sparingly the first three weeks for New England. He could again be a non-factor for the Patriots in Week 4. If he does play, he’ll have five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown.
