Barcelona face Celta Vigo at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos on Sunday, Oct. 2. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Fresh after an important 2-1 away win in the Champions League, Barcelona return to domestic duty against Celta Vigo. Barcelona continue to be without the injured Lionel Messi, so it will be interesting to see if Luis Enrique starts with the same lineup that beat Borussia Monchengladbach midweek, or rotates Arda Turan into the lineup ahead of the youngster Paco Alcacer, who got the starting in the Champions League.
After a disastrous start featuring three losses in their first three matches, the Galicians have bounced back and won their last three games in all competitions. Celta will look to Iago Aspas to create space for the likes of Pablo Hernandez (of Swansea and Valencia fame) and the Danish winger Sisto. Celta coach Eduardo Berizzo loves to rotate his lineup, so it remains to be seen if Giuseppe Rossi gets the start in place of the injured Chilean Orellana, or whether the Argentinian mastermind takes a more conservative approach and starts two defensive midfielders, opting for a “park the bus” tactic.

Benefitting from an extra day of rest, I look for Barcelona to bring home all three points versus a Celta side who has had trouble finding the net — only five goals in their first six La Liga matches. Barca have not forgotten the 4-1 loss to Celta in the same matchup last year, and Luis Enrique will certainly use that as motivation. Different season, different storyline for this game, despite Messi’s absence. Barca win.
