Loser: Florida State Seminoles (No. 12 down to No. 23)

Another loss for the Florida State and the Seminoles might just be out of the College Football Playoff race completely. Well, as long as the Seminoles don’t lose another game this season, they’ll be in the hunt. Winning out would make an interesting discussion when it comes time to talk about the playoff, but two ACC losses puts them behind the ball a bit.

The Seminoles let a home game get away from them against North Carolina in Week 5. However, after being down for most of the game, the Seminoles battled back and looked as if they would escape with a comeback one-point win over the Tar Heels but Nick Weiler nailed a 54-yard field goal as time expired to give them the win.

Now at 3-2, dropping this far in the polls at nearly the midway mark through the season could be crucial for any major bowl game hopes. Florida State has all the talent in the world on the roster, but a 63-20 loss to Louisville and a two-point home loss to North Carolina have essentially dropped them from the ACC race.

Deondre Francois is playing well as a redshirt freshman, throwing for nearly 400 yards while Dalvin Cook rushed for 140 yards and three scores. Let’s see if the Seminoles can get it together.
