It was a weekend of thrilling comebacks and scintillating finishes in college football. And there was some movement up near the top of the latest poll.

The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide had little or no problem with the Kentucky Wildcats, hence they remained the No. 1 team in the country via the Associated Press poll.

Nick Saban’s well-schooled squad received 53 first-place votes, easily outdistancing Ohio State (6), Clemson (1) and Michigan (1) for the top spot. The Tigers moved up two spots following a thrilling 42-36 win over Louisville.

Meanwhile, the Washington Huskies were elevated five spots after blasting Stanford, 44-6, on Friday night. Both Florida and Boise State also moved up the latter five notches, while the Cardinal and the University of Utah each fell significantly in the rankings.
