Tottenham face Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday, Oct. 2. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Tottenham are unbeaten through six Premier League games, and look well-placed to make another run at the top four. If there’s reason to be concerned, however, it’s that the only two games Spurs have failed to win have come against the only top six/eight level opposition they’ve faced — Everton and Liverpool. Their wins, in contrast, have come against Crystal Palace (before they had bought Christian Benteke), Stoke, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. There is a sense, then, that this test will tell us more about Mauricio Pochettino’s side and their title credentials than anything else we’ve seen this season.

Everything had been going right for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City until this week. City are still top of the league (and will remain top of the league regardless of Sunday’s result), but they received their first two setbacks in the past week. First, and probably more importantly, Kevin de Bruyne, the Citizens’ best player so far this term, suffered a torn hamstring against Swansea that will likely see him miss at least a month. Then, City failed to win for the first time this season, drawing 3-3 with Celtic in the Champions League. The result is no disaster, but Tottenham will take heart from the way the Scottish side exploited City’s defensive weaknesses.

This game should be a lot of fun, as both sides like to win the ball back quickly. With all the attacking talent on show, there should be goals. Will Tottenham’s superior defense give them the edge, or is City’s attack too strong?
