In Week 6 of FanSided’s Top 25 College Football Rankings, the Tennessee Volunteers and Washington Huskies are on the rise after memorable victories.

What a weekend, we’ve learned a lot of things about a lot of teams in the college football world.

We’ve learned that Colorado, North Carolina, Boise State and Air Force are contenders. Ohio State and Alabama are clearly the two best teams in America. And Deshaun Watson, along with Lamar Jackson, have Heisman invites waiting for them already.

More on FanSided:

We’ve also figured out that Oklahoma and Tennessee have a lucky rabbit’s foot the size of a Ford F-150 laying around somewhere. After reaching the quarter pole of the season last week, the pieces are being put into place as the college football playoff poll is looming in just a few weeks.

It must suck being a Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Your quarterback Jacob Eason throws one of the most beautiful passes and scores a TD with 11 seconds left, only to see Tennessee win on a Hail Mary. Even though Georgia lost, we learned a lot about this Bulldogs team. They’ve got a ton a young talent and Kirby Smart will have this team as a national contender very soon.

Even with the loss, don’t count them out of the SEC East race just yet.

It appears the torch is being passed when it comes to the service academies, from Navy over the past 15 seasons now to Air Force. The Falcons defeated the midshipmen in impressive fashion over the weekend and have thrust themselves into the conversation for a possible group of five bid.

That will be tested this weekend as they travel to Wyoming for a difficult matchup with the Cowboys. A win there and it looks like only one team could be in the way of the Falcons and their possible dream of a New Year’s Six Bowl. That team is Boise State.
