The two Wild Card games are set, with the winners advancing to the 2016 MLB Playoffs and a shot at the World Series.
Well, the 2016 MLB regular season has come to a close, and now it’s time to gear up for the 2016 MLB Playoffs. But before the actual playoffs get underway, we have two Wild Card games to claim the final spots for their respective league divisional series. Here’s the when and where on those two games.
The first game will feature Jose Bautista and the Toronto Blue Jays welcoming in the Baltimore Orioles. These two teams know each other very well, as both are part of the AL East and now they’re on a collision course in a huge Wild Card game at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. One team will emerge victorious and march to Texas for the ALDS. The other team will head home, and rebuild for 2017.
The Blue Jays will send Marcus Stroman to the mound on Tuesday night. It’s an interesting call, given that Francisco Liriano has previous playoff experience. Liriano was part of the 2013 Pittsburgh Pirates team that defeated the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card game that year. However, they’ve put their trust in Stroman, and will lean on their home-field advantage to help them get to Texas. The Orioles will go with Chris Tillman in their effort to reach the ALDS.
First pitch gets underway at 7:00 P.M. Central in Toronto, and will have several broadcast options. For Orioles fans, they can catch the TV broadcast on TBS and SNET. Radio coverage will be on ESPN Radio and 105.7 The Fan. Toronto fans will also have TBS and SNET for the television coverage, and can listen to the game on ESPN Radio and SN590.
Over on the National League side of things, the San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals are headed to their own Wild Card battle. The Giants have gone on to win the World Series in each of the last three even-numbered years and will look to continue that streak in 2016. And fans are in for an incredible pitching duel, as Madison Bumgarner and Noah Syndergaard will face off in a highly-anticipated matchup. The winner will then travel to Wrigley Field for a very tough NLDS slate with the Chicago Cubs.

The NL Wild Card goes live on Wednesday night, with ESPN carrying the broadcast at 7:00 P.M. Central from Citi Field. Fans can also catch the game on ESPN Radio and 710 WOR in the New York area.
