Nike announced today that the Nike Mag shoes are going up for a raffle instead of being sold or auctioned off.

The shoes are very comparable to the ones Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) wore in the Back To The Future 2 movie. The shoes biggest sell is the self tying laces that will automatic start once your foot is inserted into the boot.

So how do you get a chance at a pair of these futuristic shoes?

You must use your smartphone to download the Nike+ APP and each raffle ticket costs 10 dollars. There is no limit on how many raffle tickets you can purchase and the last day to buy one is next Tuesday, October 11.

But the odds might be tough as there are only 89 pairs of shoes available and the current sizes are 7,9,11, and 13. All the money raised goes toward the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research which raised 5.69 million dollars in the 2011 auction of the very same shoes minus the self lacing.

So if you want to test your luck with a Back To The Future 2 costume for Halloween, definitely download the APP, help out a great cause and possibly snag a pair of these “futuristic” shoes.

Anybody who is anybody can always use a pair of sweet kicks. Having these either are the greatest thing of all-time to wear around, or you put them in an air-tight vault and then sell them for top-dollar 50 years from now.
