18. Kansas City Chiefs

A week after humiliating the Jets with six interceptions, the Kansas City Chiefs crashed back to earth courtesy of a 43-14 whooping at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s becoming difficult to tell which team is which in Kansas City. One week they’re great, the next they’re not. Good teams can sometimes have problems like this and it’s often because certain key pieces are missing. Ones that helped bring more consistency.
No question the big one that showed up in Pittsburgh was the pass rush. Even though they sacked Ben Roethlisberger twice, most of the time he had a clean pocket and shredded them to pieces. The absence of Justin Houston loomed large in the game, along with nobody being on the roster who could compensate for his absence. Dee Ford remains an underachiever and Tamba Hali gets older with each passing week.

It’s for this reason they make Charles Harris their top pick. The Missouri defensive end may not be the flashy athlete that Ford was, but one thing is for sure. He routinely demonstrates an ability to put QBs on the ground. He’s explosive off the edge, can dip his shoulder and then finish fast to the ball before quarterbacks can often react. The motor never stops. He’s had multiple games of two or three sacks in his college career. That’s what Kansas City is looking for.
. DE. Missouri. Charles Harris . 18. player. 124
