24. Cleveland Browns (via PHI)

Christian McCaffrey . 24. player. 53. The Browns are in a mode where they are all about collecting playmakers. However they can get them. With Kizer in place their job is to get as many weapon around him as possible. It doesn’t matter at what position it is provided that player can help ease the burden on a rookie quarterback. Given the way the board has fallen, the team would be remiss if they passed up on this opportunity.
Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson have actually run the ball well for the Browns so far this season. So why would the team consider going back to that position so early? The simple fact that neither offer the complete skill set of a full workhorse back. Somebody who forces defenses to adjust when they walk onto the field. These are two solid runners but neither possess that certain special quality.

Christian McCaffrey does. The Stanford running back has checked every box. He’s smart (obviously), well-built, second-generation football blooded, and tough. What sets him apart though is sheer playmaking skill he has. He can run like a classic back but get him in space as a receiver or return man and he’s every bit as dangerous. A true offensive weapon who can be used in a variety of ways.
. RB. Stanford
