Clemson. Mike Williams . 8. player. 48. The game against Denver proved a lot for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Namely that quarterback Jameis Winston has a long way to go. Great defenses tend to have that effect. He just couldn’t find any sort of rhythm. Granted he didn’t have much help and that’s another problem the team needs to think about moving forward. Either way the team is 1-3 and haven’t looked any better than the group that finished last season when Lovie Smith was unceremoniously fired.

One thing that stood out most against the Broncos was how ineffective the receivers were. Vincent Jackson hasn’t looked like the dominant player he was a few years ago. Adam Humphries wasn’t much better. That of course allowed the Denver secondary to focus on stopping Mike Evans, which they did quite well. That left Winston with very few options, especially after running back Doug Martin was forced out with injury.

That explains why they were quick to scoop up Clemson standout Mike Williams. He is a focal point of one of the best offenses in the nation, featuring a big body with a wide catch radius but also decent speed that he can use to get himself open. Throw in a pair of solid hands and he has the makings of a go-to target. Put him across from Evans and Winston will have a far easier time making things happen.
. WR
