Blake Griffin throws his shoe at Cory Joseph (Video)

NBA on TNT may not start until the regular season, but Blake Griffin is making a great case to appear on Shaqtin’ a Fool already.
There’s something about the Toronto Raptors that always seems to wind up Blake Griffin. Last season, he broke his hand while the Los Angeles Clippers were in Toronto because he punched the team’s equipment manager. And now, less than 24 hours after getting manhandled by the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers welcomed the Raptors to town for some preseason basketball.
Early in the first half, the Clippers were in cruise control. But nobody cares about the score during preseason, which is why players have to exercise caution and not do anything stupid. But as it turned out, that’s exactly what Griffin did, as he threw his shoe at Toronto’s Cory Joseph so he could catch a pass:
Blake’s lucky that this game was only shown on local broadcasts. If this were on NBA on TNT, they would be having a field day with this. They still might, in their first doubleheader of the season, if Shaq actually goes along and puts this on Shaqtin’ a Fool. He’d be wise to pair it up with this clip too:
But unlike with the equipment manager, he didn’t do this in a fit of rage. He needed a way to get the ball and throw the opponent off his game, so he got creative. It’s not like the result matters in preseason anyway, and I’m sure Joseph got to laugh this off later.

Last season was a really difficult one for Griffin. He missed 45 games in total due to injuries and suspensions. Although he came back in time for the playoffs, he got hurt again in Game 4 of the first round, which led to their early exit. While the core of Griffin, Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, and J.J. Redick is a fun one to watch, it doesn’t feel like they’ll be around much longer. The Clippers have to be thinking deep playoff run, or else this season will amount to another bust.
