Melvin Upton Jr. hits home run in ALDS, French announcer goes insane (Video)
No one was more excited about the three-run home run by Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. than the French broadcaster for the game
For the most part, it’s safe to assume that no one is more amped up about a great play in a baseball game than the players themselves. If you think that, you obviously didn’t realize that one French broadcaster existed. Because without question, there’s no one that was more hyped about the dinger than him.
Coming into the top of the fourth inning, the Blue Jays already sported a 5-0 lead in Game 1. However, the bats of the Rangers against an inexperienced Marco Estrada left them wanting more breathing room. Luckily, Upton was able to provide that. He launched a pitch over the left field wall, just right of the foul pole. And as it went over the fence, the French announcer for the game absolutely lost his mind:
My French is quite limited, so only parts of what he’s saying makes sense. However, you don’t need to understand to language to realize how pumped up this man is over the homer. He truly sounds like this is the best day of his life.
