3. Texas vs. No. 20 Oklahoma

In what has been a reversal of fortune, the Texas Longhorns have gone from being the talk of college football to on the verge of a collapse. Charlie Strong no longer is safe in his position as head coach and if the Longhorns can’t pull out a win soon, the team is going to pull the plug on him.

To raise the stakes, Texas will take on Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl this weekend. There is nothing quite like the rivalry between these two teams and the Longhorns got the better of them last year. While Strong has proven his team can beat Oklahoma, the Sooners are looking a lot better at this point than Texas.

The Longhorns season could take a turn for the worse if they lose this weekend. After a win over Notre Dame to begin the season, that win no longer looks good at all. The Fighting Irish have gone in the tank and the resume for Texas isn’t as strong.

This game is all about a team fighting for their coach’s job. Boosters aren’t going to put up with a loss to their rival. It could very well be win or go home for Strong in Texas. It’s all on the line when these two teams do battle.
