Although multiple sporting events have been canceled or relocated due to Hurricane Matthew, the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins are still scheduled to play on Sunday.

The powerful storm has already killed two in Florida, as it makes its way North, but for now the Titans and Dolphins will play Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. Neither of these 1-3 team’s were expected to be contenders this year.

Thus far, poor quarterback play has really hurt the Dolphins chances in their four games. Even in their lone win of the season, it was their running game that lifted the Dolphins to victory.

During the week, Dolphins head coach, Adam Gase discussed his plan to utilize a running game that featured just one back. While he didn’t say who that back would be, we can pick and choose who it will be. With Arian Foster doubtful to play, it’ll be either Jay Ajayi or Kenyan Drake to take the role as the number one runner.

In their latest game against the Bengals last Thursday, Ajayi led the team in carries with six. The team had just 13 rushing attempts total. On the year, the Dolphins average just 18.5 rushing attempts per game. Their 33.18 rushing percentage per game is 31st in football. In order to build a steadier and more consistent ground attack, the Dolphins will look to give one back at least 20 carries.

The Titans come into this game putting up only 15.5 points per game on average, which is last in the league. Mariota has had his fair share of struggles in the first four games of the season. Point your finger where you want, whether you blame poor scheming, coaching, or execution, but at the end of the day, he’s not playing good football.

While Mariota has seven completions over 25 yards or more according to Sporting Charts, it’s his turnover rate that is killing drives. Mariota already has eight turnovers this season and the Titans are -12 in turnover margin and have given up 19  points off of turnovers. In order to secure a victory against the Dolphins, Mariota must be more protective of the ball. The Titans don’t score many points as it is, so they must do the little things.
