Week 5 Survivor Pool Picks
WEEK 5 SURVIVOR POOL PICKS
Which team is best suited for a Week 5 Survivor Pool Pick? Many players have been eliminated as a result of the Panthers and Cardinals starting off 1-3. There are several solid picks this week. This week I’ll offer up the pick I believe will help you survive to Week 6.
Last week I had to make a suggestion that I did not actually use for my Survival Pool Pick. I chose the Bengals, but was only able to write my article after TNF. My suicide pool picks this year have been: Week 1-Kansas City Chiefs, Week 2- New York Jets, Week 3- Miami Dolphins, and Week 4-Bengals. I selected Arizona to beat Los Angeles as my locked in pick for my article last weekend. To those who followed my advice… Well you are probably out of your pool and will never read another thing I write. If your jaded by my writing or just want another opinion, check out my colleague Neal’s picks for the weekend. Enough about my failures, let me give you my theory for this weekend.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS OVER NEW YORK JETS
The Steelers looked like the best team in the NFL last weekend. The contest against the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend was SUPPOSED to be a close game. The game was not close at all. Pittsburgh demolished the Chiefs 43-13. The Steelers scored a franchise record 22 points in the first quarter. The defense caused two turnovers and completely stymied the Chiefs. The Steelers come into the game against the Jets looking great.

WEAKENED JETS
The New York Jets lost 27-17 to the visiting Seattle Seahawks. Eric Decker is injured, Ryan Fitzpatrick is a pick machine, things are not looking promising in New York. The Jets are 1-3, they currently sit 16th in YPG on defense and 14th in YPG on offense. The team has had horrible struggles offensively in their last two games. Losing Eric Decker has had an extremely negative impact on their offense.
STEELERS BIG GUNS
Ben Roethlisberger had an amazing day against the Jets. Ben went 22/27 with 300 yards and 5 touchdowns. You cannot ask for more from your quarterback. The Steelers defense put the Pittsburgh offense in good situations and they made the most of their opportunities. Antonio Brown had 4 catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns. The Steelers offense looked unstoppable against the Cheifs. The team should continue to roll against a Jets team that can’t seem to get their offense going.
VERDICT
I believe the Steelers are a hot team right now. They have been playing well on both sides of the ball. The Jets have injury problems right now and are in need of a big win. The win will not come against the Steelers at home.
