An Arkansas lineman made an insanely dirty play on Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts, mashing on the quarterback’s neck and shoving his head into the ground

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts was not kind to the Arkansas Razorbacks in Week 6 of the college football season. Despite the big SEC matchup getting primetime billing, it was a mismatch right from the start. The true freshman was running and throwing the ball just about wherever he pleased. Apparently at least one Arkansas defensive lineman didn’t take kindly to that. And he decided to get cheap with it and make a completely underhanded play.

After forcing Hurts into one of this few mistakes on the night, the Alabama quarterback was left on the ground following an interception. Rather than letting him up, though, a Razorbacks lineman instead stayed on top of him and started shoving Hurts’ head into the ground by his neck.

Seriously, look at how ridiculous this is by this lineman (H/T SB Nation):

That’s completely unacceptable in every single way. Not only should that not happen to any player, being mashed into the ground by the neck, but it’s especially deplorable on a play where it’s completely unnecessary. Hurts is pretty clearly just trying to get back to his feet and not much more.

Hopefully either Bret Bielema, the Arkansas athletic director, or someone gets a hold of this clip and takes action against said lineman. That kind of dirty play can’t go unnoticed and unpunished.
