If you’re the California Golden Bears, you have to feel very fortunate that after losing No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff to the NFL, there has been no drop-off in production through the air. In fact, Davis Webb has led the Golden Bears to a 3-2 start, including upsets over Utah and Texas.
Webb leads the country in passing yards and touchdowns. He has accounted for 2,143 yards and 22 touchdowns through five games, a truly unbelievable number.
Chad Hansen has been the main beneficiary of the nation’s top passing attack, catching a team-high 55 passes for 754 yards and eight touchdowns. Don’t sleep on freshman wide out Demetris Robertson, though, as he’s living up to the immense hype so far with 15 receptions for 309 yards and five scores.

Oregon State might be hosting the Golden Bears and potentially posing a tough test, but the offense has been mediocre this season, at best. Gary Andersen did a great job with Wisconsin a couple of years ago, but he shockingly decided to leave for the Oregon State job and isn’t having the same success.
The Beavers are averaging just 312 yards per game and have only eight total touchdowns in four contests. Not exactly an ideal situation for a team playing an elite offense.
Former Utah State quarterback Darrell Garretson was the starter to begin the season, but struggles lately have allowed for the door to be cracked open by freshman Conor Blount. The quarterback battle could cause problems this week, however.
