Dalvin Cook made his second big play of the night and made it count with a much-needed touchdown for Florida State.

Florida State running back Dalvin Cook and the rest of the Seminoles offense has been quiet for most of the night against No. 10 Miami. The Seminoles started trailing 13-0 against the Hurricanes in the first half. However, Florida State has found themselves back in the game against the Hurricanes with a touchdown catch from Cook. Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois found a wide-open Cook. Cook cruised to the end zone for a 59-yard touchdown catch. He reminded the Hurricanes of why you never leave one of the nation’s top running backs with that much room.

This is Cook’s only reception of the game. This one obviously counts for the Seminoles, though. They are clearly motivated by the return of Francois. The redshirt freshman quarterback temporarily left the game with a shoulder injury. This hurt the Seminoles greatly. Backup Sean Maguire ruined a promising drive that included a 54-yard run by Cook and threw an interception.

The Seminoles trail the Hurricanes, 13-10, as of that scoring play. The Seminoles entered this game with a 3-2 record and a No. 23 ranking. They are riding a six-game winning streak against the Hurricanes. Miami is proving to be a formidable force though, as shown by their No. 10 ranking.

It remains to be seen which of these ACC rivals can leave Saturday night with a victory. Cook has provided the majority of the Seminoles’ offensive production with his two big plays, though. Miami has progressively gained some offensive output along with their strong defense. They will likely need a big play or two to hold off a comeback-minded Florida State team.
