Texas Longhorns wide receiver Dorian Leonard made an impossible bobbling touchdown catch past an Oklahoma Sooners defender for the touchdown.
The Red River Rivalry has turned into an absolute shootout in Dallas. After both teams played a rather conservative fist half against each other, they opened up the offenses in the third quarter. Both teams began trading deep shots and the lead with each other, as Baker Mayfield and Shane Buechele got into a quarterback battle. The latest touchdown came courtesy of Dorian Leonard.
As Buechele dropped back to throw the ball, he saw Leonard running for the end zone and he let the ball fly. As Leonard tried to get past the defender, he bobbled the ball multiple times and somehow managed to haul it in to give the Longhorns the lead.
"What a catch!😮 The #RedRiverShowdown is heating up! https://t.co/5H7kdH4put— FOX College Football (@CFBONFOX) October 8, 2016"
Everyone went crazy over the catch, including announcer Gus Johnson. For a game that was rather low scoring in the first half, the two teams really opened it up and left caution to the wind. It was a good throw, but this play is all about Leonard somehow making one of the best catches of the season.
It’s a rivalry game and these teams are going to do whatever it takes. Even if it means making plays they might not normally make in others.
